I am posting my list of the week a bit late because these past two weeks I have been so stressed and tired it has been especially hard to sit down and write (or do anything for that matter).Let’s just say I have really been feeling Saturn’s retrograde. However, even thought I didn’t post it, I did write it down on my notebook, so here it is:
Beauty and the Beast
It took some convincing, but in the end he agreed to come with me to watch Beauty and the Beast. The set, the graphics, the lighting…they are all a dream come true. I love the way the charecters and the town were brought to life, it made me feel as if the place could really exists. Also, listening to some of my childhood songs made me feel very nostalgic, I might have even teard up a bit at some point #noshame. The fact that people clapped at the end proves I wasn’t the only one overly emotional during the movie! If you haven’t watched it yet, I recommend that you do.
Worked on my friends website
My best friend started her own online travel agency and she asked me to write and edit the content. As I already mentioned (and you probably noticed from my last two posts), my current job has had me wondering what I really want to do with my life, or more precisely, the type of job that I want. Helping her has made me realize I do, in fact, love what I do and better yet, I am good at it. Sometimes all we need is a little reassurance.
I decided to take Monday off to rest because sometimes two days to recuperate just isn’t enough. On Saturday you are either too tired to do anything or you have so many things to do you don’t have time to relax, and by the time you start feeling better it’s already Sunday night and you have to prepare your things for work the next day. Monday was the perfect day to let my spirit animal, the sloth, sleep in and energize.
Pho for dinner
Two months ago my boyfriend and I went to watch a play, and when we exited the theater there it was, like a sign from the universe, the word “Pho” written in big red letters. At first we thought we might have enjoyed it so much because, as we say in Spanish: “where there is hunger, there is no stale bread” (A buen hambre, no hay pan duro), so we went back about 3 more times just for… you know, research purposes. Now that we know it is right next to a V.O. movie theater, we’ll probably go back again next week.
Back to the motherland
I have not seen my family in 13 years — yep you read that right…13 years! — and now that my contract is about to end in two days, my mom decided it was the perfect time to have a little family reunion. On April 28th my mom and I will be getting on a plane bound for Mexico to surprise the whole family. Excitement doesn’t even begin to cover it.
